Physician-Owned. Client-Focused.
Physician-owned means the people who own Prairie Specialty Billing are clinicians. Corey Blackburn, DPM, and Karl Vollers, APRN, still work in patient care. Documentation requests and payer fights are handled the way a colleague would handle them, not as a vendor demand after a long clinic day.
Prairie Specialty Billing shares ownership with Prairie Foot & Ankle, a Grand Island podiatry practice. They are sister companies, not the same legal entity. Learn more at prairiefoot.com.

Corey Blackburn
Founder
Corey Blackburn was raised in the small town of Glenwood, Iowa. He completed his residency training in Toledo, Ohio at St. Vincent Medical Center. He completed podiatry school at Des Moines University and his Bachelors of Science In Nursing.
He spent many summers in Grand Island as a child and has always wanted to live and work here. While he practices a wide range of podiatric medicine, Dr. Blackburn has had interest in treating foot and ankle pain. He also has expertise in diabetic foot care, reconstruction of foot and ankle deformities, wounds, and ulcers. Preventive care and foot health maintenance is always top priority.
Dr. Blackburn enjoys spending time with his two boys. He also enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, and anything outdoors. Dr. Blackburn is active in community service projects at the local Rotary Club.
Karl Vollers grew up in rural Central City, NE. After receiving his Bachelors of Science in Nursing, he worked as an Emergency Room nurse in Grand Island. He then continued his education through the University of Nebraska Medical Center and received his Masters of Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner tract.
He appreciates the holistic approach to medicine and works to help patients return to and maintain their optimal level of health. Using evidence-based research, he individualizes care to help each patient move toward their goal. His wound care and sport’s medicine interests led him to team up with Prairie Foot and Ankle.
As a lifelong Nebraska resident, Karl enjoys the great Nebraska outdoors. Spending time in the garden, on the lake, or hiking with his family are some of his favorite activities. He continues to be an active member of Community Bible Church and enjoys working with youth to develop a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Office ManagerWhat physician-owned means
A billing company run by clinicians asks for documentation changes the way a colleague would, and knows which payer fights are worth the energy. That is what built for providers, by providers means here.
“At Prairie Specialty Billing, we understand the unique challenges that come with running a medical practice. We are a physician-owned company, so we know first-hand the importance of getting timely and accurate reimbursement for the care you provide. We also know that denials and delays are all too common, which is why we fight so hard to get every claim paid. We specialize in medical billing for a wide range of specialties, and our team is always exploring new ways to improve our services. When you work with us, you can rest assured that your billing is in good hands. Let us handle your billing needs so you can focus on what matters most, your patients. We would be happy to discuss your needs and tailor a solution that meets your unique requirements. Thank you for considering us as your medical billing partner!”
